•Tooro United 1-0 Vipers
•Busoga United 0-0 Police FC
•Bright Stars 3-0 BUL FC

Rock bottom Tooro united frustrated Log leaders Vipers to win 1-0 in a UPL encounter played at Buhinga Stadium.

Substitute Mark Nsubuga’s strike in79th minute, who came in for injured Ronald Magwali in first half, proved the difference as the roaring Lions extended their second round unbeaten run at home.

This was Tooro’s first win ever against Four-time UPL champions, with this result very significant for either side.

At the moment, they are still leading the log with 3 points, but KCCA who is in second, has a chance to tally that up when they host SC Villa on Saturday.

For Tooro, they have given themselves yet another chance to to fight for survival and move six points adrift of safety.

In the 13th minute, Milton Karisa had an opening inside the hosts box, but he was denied by Simon Mbuya before Ronald Kayondo blocked away the rebound.

In the 19th minute, hosts’ Isaac Mpagi saw his effort blocked by Mulondo into their first corner kick.

A minute later, hosts ploted another well connected attack when Senoga picked Nsereko with a long through ball, who drove it toward vipers box before applying a brilliant cross but Mpagi was too late for a tap in as the ball goes begging across vipers goal.

In 37th, Manzuki missed a close range seater when he skied away Yunus Sentamu’s cross to end the first 45 minute goalless.

In the second half, the vistors applied more pressure but couldn’t beat Tooro’s impressive defending.

Anukani had a chance to hand the visitors the long awaited lead, but his close range effort failed to hit the target.

A moment of magic produced in the 79th minute, when Senoga’s brilliant display of ball dribbling tore vipers defence into pieces before delivering a teasing cross which Nsubaga quickly reacted on to beat Mutombola who would have done better to keep the ball from crossing the line.

In the 87th minute, with Mubuya already beaten off his line, Substitute Mwemezi who came in for Karisa, had a chance to level matters but his effort was denied.

Tooro United now on 12 points with still ten games to play, reduce the relegation deficit to six points, and will play Gadiffi in their next fixture.

Viper are still on the top of the log with just three points behind chasers KCCA who are playing on Saturday against Villa.
