The ministry of ICT and National Guidance officially flagged off 181 Parish Development Model Information System officers on Wednesday 17th May at the ministry offices.
The flag off was presided over by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of ICT Dr. Amina Zawedde who announced the compulsory country wide registration of all the beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
“The ministry of ICT and National Guidance has continued to implement what we call pillar 6 of the Parish Development Model Information system. The development of this system is to ensure that we are improving accountability of government funds through creating transparency.” Said Amina Zawedde
“This system is hinged to supporting communities to improve their livelihood through this model, the aim of the system is that we are going out at the communiyies to register households and what activities they can do with the PDM funds.” Added
The 181 PDMIS officers will officially start work on Monday 22nd May and it is expected to run for a period one year. The officers will help train local government officials on the use of the Parish Development Model Information System.
The registration process will be carried out online via www.Registration.pdmis.go.ug as a result to keep transparency and clear accountability of the PDM funds.
